This one has both a Peter Pan collar and an empire seam, which between them define the field across all 9 sizes. The collar takes the top of the chest and the seam closes the bottom of it, so the usable panel is the band in between — shorter than on a plain dress but perfectly flat, with no dart and no placket. Size the monogram to that band rather than to the dress.

While the chest area is ideal for hooping, some crafters do embroider on the skirt. The 6+ oz interlock fabric holds stitches well throughout the garment.
